Brief

The Office of the Supervising Scientist, a Division of the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (The Customer) is seeking a qualified and experienced consultant to develop a suite of three contamination management plans for the town of Jabiru, within the World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park, based on the assessment reports available and in consultation with local stakeholders. The three contamination management plans required are: (A) Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) Management Plan including but not limited to PFOS, PFOA and PFHxS. (B) Total Recoverable Hydrocarbon (TRH) Management Plan; and (C) Asbestos Management Plan. A comprehensive risk assessment using existing data needs to be completed based on evaluation of the potential human health and environmental risks associated with identified contamination levels, and if required based on the risk assessment outcomes, provide costed management plans to address identified risks. Each plan must integrate existing environmental data and align with ongoing remediation commitments for the former mining township. This work must build upon and integrate findings from existing reports, surveys, and environmental assessments, previous contamination studies, site investigation reports, building condition assessments, and environmental monitoring data.
