Contract History
| WA-DFES220522 | The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) financial management system, SmartStream, was designed over 25-years ago and implemented in 1999. At the time, DFES was much smaller, catering only for career fire services and a simplistic bushfire management need. The implementation of SmartStream met business needs at the time with a strong emphasis on transaction integrity with low volumes. Since the initial introduction of the current finance system to DFES in 1999, DFES has evolved from a purely fire response agency to a holistic emergency management organisation. DFES finance system which is based on data models and technology developed in the 1980’s has not kept pace with expanded organisational requirements. The current financial management ecosystem is no longer fit for purpose and is creating significant risks and impacts to service delivery. DFES requires a replacement financial management information system (FMIS), also referred to as MyFinance, to support its core financial management functions.
