| WA-PTA240366 | The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is undertaking planning studies to determine the infrastructure and system changes required to enable future operation of 6-car rollingstock across the entirety of its network. The PTA has identified that, due to anticipated patronage growth, most platforms at stations on the Fremantle, Midland and Armadale heritage lines (colloquial term used to describe these 3 lines) with existing 100-metre-long platforms are required to be lengthened to 150 metres. This will allow for 6-car rollingstock to stop at these platforms and therefore provide increased capacity to serve future expected demand. The Platform and Signalling Upgrade Program (PSUP) is designed to modernise Perth’s original heritage rail lines to increase the capacity of the Armadale, Midland and Fremantle Lines by providing longer trains more often across the existing rail network, to be achieved through platform lengthening to allow operation of six-car train sets, and minor signalling upgrades to enable more frequent services (up to 15 electrified trains per hour + adequate capacity to slot in regional TransWA services where required). Phase 1 stations of PSUP include: Meltham Maylands Claisebrook Phase 2 stations of PSUP include: Victoria Park McIver (grade separation of pedestrian crossings only) The PTA seeks the provision of Services, including: Supporting the management of Phase 1& Phase 2 Project Definition Plan (PDP) development; Facilitation of procurement workshops to confirm preferred procurement strategy; Facilitation of Risk workshops; and Additional meetings and advice as required. | Public Transport Authority | $140,588 |

This increase in train services results in a significant increase in pedestrian crossing closure times. A business case has been developed for the City West Project, reflecting a comprehensive problem definition, options identification/analysis, economic assessment and implementation analysis. The PTA seeks the provision of Services, including (but not limited to): • Provision of a Project Development Plan based on the Business Case and Scope Change Rationale and, as a minimum, meet the Project Definition Plan Guidelines specified by the Government of Western Australia Department of Treasury. • Facilitation and development of Procurement and Risk PDP components | Public Transport Authority | $99,134 |
