The Byford Rail Extension (BRE) and Victoria Park Canning Level Crossing Removal (LXR) projects commenced major onsite construction in November 2023 with passenger rail services recommence on the new infrastructure mid 2025 with project practical completion following completion of all associated works later in 2025. The new infrastructure includes the construction of 5.5km of elevated viaduct, 7 new train stations and 8km of new railway to Byford. OMTIDs role includes oversight of the alliances designing and constructing the infrastructure and the provision of specialist resources to work within the alliances as owner participants. The METRONET Delivery Team requires the services of an experienced Strategic Estimating Advisor to support the ongoing management of the BRE and LXR projects. For clarity, for logistical and communication efficiencies the preference is for a single resource to provide the services as opposed to a team. The Strategic Estimating Advisor will support the Project Team’s Delivery Manager with strategic estimating advice related to the high risk, high value BRE & LXR Alliance contracts. The Services emphasis is on contractor estimating of public transport infrastructure, civil and building construction and railway systems engineering for linear type infrastructure projects. Services that may be required include: a. the review of estimates prepared by the Alliances; b. attendance at Alliance cost forecasting meetings; c. where required, challenging the Alliance’s estimates of time, cost and materials; and d. report to OMTID on the reliability of estimates prepared by the Alliance The Strategic Estimating Advisor must have substantial experience as a senior estimator for construction contractors and with projects being delivered under Alliance Contracts. | Public Transport Authority | $561,660 |
