Mount Isa Hospital Lifts Project

Brief

North West Hospital and Health Service (the Customer) invites tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors to upgraded lifts servicing Block C at the Mount isa Hospital (the Project). The Project delivers the construction of new lifts servicing Block C at Mount Isa Hospital. A support structure and lift are being installed between Blocks B and C. Once complete, the current double lift arrangement in Block C will be modified and replaced with a single larger capacity lift. Maintenance beyond the maintenance period (see specification), is not included in the scope. However, pricing for this is being requested as an option for the supplier to complete for consideration by NWHHS for possible incorporation into the scope of work. If deemed value for money by the Principal, a separate contract or contract conditions for maintenance may be executed with the successful supplier for this additional work. The following works are also being delivered within the package of works: repurposed outdoor lunch area landscaping reconfiguration replacing existing affected staff amenities with disabled compliant amenities upgraded paths and access arrangements; and utility and mechanical enhancements as described in the attached specifications. The Customer is the predominant healthcare provider for the regional and rural communities of North West Queensland, with Mount Isa Hospital functioning as the major hospital in the region. The lifts at Mount Isa Hospital Block C do not meet current operational requirements and are approaching the end of their serviceable life. The Project is necessary for the Customer to meet its obligations under the Public Health Act 2005, to identify hazards, control and remediate assets in order to mitigate risks. Completion of this Project within the shortest practical time frame is a priority for the Customer. Documents included in the ITT process can be found in the attached ITT document.
