New England Highway Chalk Drive Cycleway Upgrades

Brief

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR or the “Principal”) invites prequalified Tenderers at R3 (Major), F10 (Financial) A2 (Asphalt) and above category to submit a Tender for the construction of the New England Highway (22A Yarraman-Toowoomba) Chalk Drive Cycleway Upgrades. This tender will be using the draft revised TIPDS tender process (40% price/60% non-price single stage assessment for tenders valued below $20m). The general scope of works is the upgrade of two intersections (Chalk Drive/Ruthven Street and Chalk Drive/Neil Street) to improve continuity of the cycle lanes and improve pedestrian access on the New England Highway. Construction is to be undertaken under traffic on a full-service basis. A non-mandatory Briefing and Knowledge Share session will be held via Microsoft Teams (details as per the Conditions of Tendering Annexure) on 23 July 2026 to provide tenderers with a more detailed scope of works as well as the revised tendering process. A mandatory pre-lodgement conference will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday 26 August 2026 via Microsoft Teams.
