Brief

Council conducts an extensive management program for declared plants across council owned land and enforcement activity on private property. As part of these programs, council requires a number of suitably qualified persons to provide a range of services to ensure the effective management of weeds in a variety of circumstances. This contract is a preferred supplier arrangement for the provision of contract weed spraying. Under the Queensland Biosecurity Act 2014, Council, as a landowner, is required to take reasonable steps to keep land free of restricted and prohibited invasive matter (declared plants). Council is also charged with ensuring compliance with the Act by other landholders within the council area. Council utilises various methods for the management of declared plants throughout the region including boom spray, quick spray, and manual removal.
