Brief
Mildura Rural City Council is seeking Tender responses from suitably qualified organisations to provide glass crushing and processing services for kerbside-collected glass arising from Council’s purple-lidded bin service. Council introduced a dedicated kerbside glass recycling service on 1 July 2024, providing 120-litre purple-lidded bins to residential properties within the kerbside collection boundary. This initiative forms part of the Victorian Government’s standardisation of household recycling across all 79 Victorian councils by 2027 (and no later than 2030), consistent with the requirements of the Circular Economy (Waste Reduction and Recycling) Act 2021 and the Recycling Victoria: A New Economy policy. (Note: In late 2025, the Victorian Government confirmed that Recycling Victoria will be merged with EPA Victoria.)
