Brief
The Queensland Energy Roadmap announced in October 2025 committed to the establishment of a new Queensland Transmission Network Service Provider (TNSP) to deliver the Eastern Link of the CopperString by 2032. The intending TNSP invites potential prime contractor, network generators and network operator participants to register in the Delivery Market Sounding Process (DMSP) for the CopperString East Project (Eastern Link). At this stage, engagement is limited to prime contractors as outlined above; Tier 3 SMEs and suppliers are not within scope for this phase of market sounding. QIC acknowledges the extensive market engagement undertaken on CopperString since 2023 and will take this feedback into account as part of its review. This DMSP is a pre-procurement activity that will allow the intending TNSP to engage with potential suppliers and contractors to understand current market capacity and capability and listen to innovative ideas.
