Contract History
| WA-DOT418625 | DTMI requires an experienced Contractor to design and construct the sewer upgrades as required at Two Rocks Marina (TRM). Two Rocks Marina has two separate sewage disposal systems that service existing assets within the marina. There is a limited sewage reticulation network that services the existing internal lots located towards the northern end of the marina. This network gravity feeds to a DTMI owned private pump station, that pumps sewage from there to a septic tank and leach drain system located on the north-eastern side of the DTMI owned lot. There is additional sewage disposal infrastructure that services assets located in the southern end of the Marina. This consists of some temporary septic holding tanks (SHT) to service the public toilet block that was installed in 2022. This infrastructure is not connected to the infrastructure servicing the northern end of the marina. It has also been identified that the yacht club, located in the southern part of the marina, has its own separate septic tank that operates in isolation. The toilet block that was installed in 2022 initially had a development application (DA) approval for a waterless style toilet. This approval was later withdrawn during construction of the toilet block following advice received from the Department of Health (DoH) indicating that such a system would not be acceptable. DTMI has committed to replacing the SHT’s as soon as practicable by connecting the toilet block to the Water Corporations sewerage network, notionally within 3 years. As such, this is the highest priority objective of this project. Given the requirement to connect the toilet block to the main sewer network, an opportunity exists to also design a replacement sewage reticulation network, and remove the aging septic and leach drain disposal system in the northern precinct to enable the disposal of all sewage from TRM to the main sewer network. The Works will consist of separable portions as follows: Separable Portion 1 – Design and construction of the Site A (southern) pumped discharge system. Separable Portion 2 – Optional Works - Design of the Site B (northern) pumped discharge system. Separable Portion 3 – Optional Works - Construct the new Site B Pumped Discharge System. | Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure | $1,276,600 |
