| WA-DOT404423 | Aerial Imagery is an important information resource for the Department of Transport (DoT) which many business areas rely on. The imagery and related spatial data are used intensively by several teams in Maritime such as Coastal Infrastructure, Marine Safety and Coastal Information as well as some DoT business units like Urban Mobility. Historically, DoT has obtained imagery through Landgate's Capture WA program. However, the imagery does not always meet the specific requirements needed by DoT business units. In the last several years, DoT has utilised an imagery subscription service which has provided additional high-resolution past and current imagery for both the Perth metropolitan area and the built-up regional areas of Western Australia. DoT staff access the imagery as a data streaming service, via a web mapping user interface. This is used by DoT staff for comparison purposes (before and after studies).
