| WA-DOJ202203082 | The WA Government has committed to introducing a family and domestic violence (FDV) focussed pilot program for women in prison to support a safe transition back into the community. This commitment recognises that women prisoners are a particularly vulnerable group who have often experienced high rates of family violence and are at greater risk of being re-victimised following exit from prison. The Department of Justice (the Department) is now seeking to establish a program which will deliver FDV services to impacted and at-risk women prisoners. The requirements set out in the Request have been developed through consultation with the social support and legal assistance sectors and will be further refined in partnership with the successful Respondent. The services sought in this Request relate to the delivery of a three (3) year pilot program which is restricted in its scope (client type and prison location). Outcomes from a program evaluation (funded by the Department) to be conducted from the end of the 2nd year of operation will inform decision making with respect to program scope beyond 2025. It is expected that the successful Respondent will provide high quality and culturally sensitive FDV-focused social support and legal assistance to women at Bandyup Women?s Prison and Greenough Regional Prison who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing FDV. | Department of Justice | $2,862,223 |
