| WA-C06448 | The Cancer Network Western Australia (CNWA) have an established contract with the Cancer Council WA (CCWA) to deliver services for the Prevention and Early Detection of Cancer in the Community (C06448). The contract was established in January 2016 as a Preferred Service Provider. CCWA delivers on four key initiatives: Skin Cancer Prevention, GP Education, Bowel Screen education and specialist education via the Western Australian Oncology Group (WACOG). In addition to this, a variation to this contract was approved in July 2017 whereby, CCWA was awarded the Find Cancer Early program as part of an election commitment funded initiative. CCWA have delivered the contract as per the terms of the established agreement and have demonstrated compliance against key objectives and outcomes in the quarterly, bi-annual and annual reports. The contract is set to conclude on the 30 June 2024 after exercising 4 x extensions beyond term: 1. A short term 6-month agreement to extend the contract was approved by the Department of Finance in March 2020 with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. 2. A 1-year beyond term extension was approved as a result of the post care-taker period in February 2021. 3. An 18-month extension was granted to provide sufficient time to facilitate the new Procurement via Tenders WA in July 2022. 4. A 6-month beyond term extension was granted to finalise procurement processes for new contract to 30 June 2024. CNWA sought after confirmation from CCWA to agree on a further 6-month to finalise procurement of a new service agreement. The budget/price will be fixed as per current agreement for the 5 initiatives.
