| WA-SMHS20206591 | SMHS aims to establish a panel contract for the provision of radiation oncology services within Rockingham and/or Peel regions; with each patient being reviewed at point of referral to determine if local radiation oncology services, with the management under a public general hospital, are appropriate. The purpose of this contract is to provide high quality public radiation oncology services in closer proximity to a patients home, to reduce the negative impacts associated with travelling long distances to receive essential radiotherapy treatments. All patients referred for services by SMHS under the contracting arrangement must remain as public patients. Radiation oncology services are to be provided by the Contractor from a suitably licenced premise. The Contractor will be required to provide suitable and appropriately trained staff to undertake the provision of all aspects of the radiation oncology services. In addition to providing the radiation oncology services, the Contractor will be required to provide: Medical physicist services, radiation oncology nursing services, administration and clerical services associated with the provision of radiation oncology services; Professional development of all staff associated with the delivery of the radiation oncology services; and Provision and maintenance of all radiotherapy equipment located at the Contractors premise, in accordance with current national best practice. Appointed Contractor/s will be required to have the capacity to provide services from its privately owned facilities in the Rockingham and/or Peel regions, with the services anticipated to commence from February 2022. | South Metropolitan Health Service | $21,218,243 |
